The Nosara Civic Association was founded in 1975 with the purpose of promoting progress while protecting the environment and the local culture, and providing the residents of Nosara with the basic services. Since then, the association has been an essential part of the area, contributing with community planning, providing electricity and water for some areas, parkland and beach protection and projects like the Nosara Trails System.
